American actress and political activist Jane Fonda, whose birth name was Lady Jayne Seymour Fonda and who was born on December 21, 1937, in New York, New York, United States, is best known for her comedic roles in the early stages of her career. Henry Fonda, also an actor, had a daughter named Jane Fonda.
